The weather had come in and we go north, typical.
Tim was one of the Groomsmen at a wedding I shot in September 2009 and called about a year ago out of the blue to see if we would travel back up and shoot his and Philippas winter wedding. A few weeks later and a meeting after a busy day at the NEC and it was on.
We travelled up on the Friday to make sure we had plenty of time for possible weather delays and do a little shopping in Birmingham. The weather wasn’t great but that along with the snow really helped to combine for some really striking and serene images. Given how cold it was Tim and Philippa seemed to hold up fairly well and stuck with us until the light finally faded away. I don’t think anyone could feel there feet after that apart from the bride who was smart enough to pack some Uggs.
In all the years we have been doing this it was the first time I have shot a wedding in the snow as we usually head out on assignment to warmer climes for a few months around this time of year. So all in all I can say it was an enjoyable experience. I’m not sure I could do it every year though!
